My New Jewelry
In Colorado, Josh bought me two pairs of earrings (both of which I love) - these red aspen leaves, and little silver flowers with turquoise centers. Then last weekend, I went to a barn sale with a few of my friends and I splurged on this necklace from The Tangled Nest (they sell a similar one on their etsy page). You can actually see me wearing it in the latest Messy Mondays video at around 2:38. I'm not normally into wearing jewelry, but I really like having the option with these cute new pieces!
Being Home
Hot Tea
I've always liked tea, but my mother-in-law gave me a box of kombucha green tea bags before our trip, and I really got into it while we were on the road. It was super easy to make in the mornings and sip on throughout the day. Add a bit of vanilla almond milk and a few drops of stevia extract, and you've got yourself a freaking delicious (and healthy!) green tea latte.
My Little Brother's Hero Shot
This one requires some explanation: so, my youngest brother (Joshua) plays soccer for King College, and he's very talented. I'm not just saying that because I'm his big sister, either! There were a lot of universities pursuing him after high school, and he was even offered a place in Nashville's Premier Development League soccer team, The Metros this past summer. That's how good he is! Ok, so now that you understand his talent - here is a video of him scoring a goal in last weekend's game (Joshua gets control of the ball at around 0:19). It's undeniably a great goal, but make sure you pay attention to his celebration dance, too... That's my lil bro! :D I wish I had been there to see it in person. P.S. We didn't know that Joshua's picture was going to be used in King's latest event schedule postcard until my parents got it in the mail last week. Isn't he handsome? Just chalk it up to his good genes. ;)

This Week's Bloopers
The bloopers from our Messy Monday shoots crack me up every week, but this week even more so. At the risk of sounding narcissistic, the interactions between Josh and I are my favorite and they make me goofy-grin so hard. We have fun together, and I guess it's just cool to relive that/see it from another perspective. (You can watch the bloopers here and the original video here)What are you currently digging?

DeleteI like Taylor Swift, too. Have you seen the music video for "We are Never Ever Getting Back Together"? I love the guy in the bear costume rocking out on his autoharp.
ReplyDeleteCurrently digging: The Dinosaurs on Netflix
Yes! That guy was cracking me up. And I've got lots of respect for them, shooting the whole thing in one take. That is really REALLY impressive.
DeleteWhy I like Taylor Swift: (hint - it has nothing to do with her music, though to be fair, I don't DISlike what I've heard). She ENCOURAGES her fans (mostly preteen, teen girls) to come with their dads to her concerts!!! I LOVE that. I also read an interview of hers recently, and as role models go, she's about as down-to-earth and wholesome as you get.
ReplyDeleteIt's true! She seems like a stand-up gal :)
DeleteOkay, your front porch looks adorable! :) I'm glad you're back home (and blogging so frequently, lol).
ReplyDeleteI love Taylor Swift! And probably always will: her older music is great, and I've got high hopes for her new stuff. Never Ever has been stuck in my head since it came out. :P
Aw, you made me smile! I'm glad to know someone likes it when I'm blogging frequently. I'm always afraid I'll overdo it and you guys'll get sick of me haha.
DeleteI love Taylor Swift too and you look so cute in these pics, Kelli! Glad you guys had a nice trip!

DeleteHey, I've got nothing against Taylor Swift. I actually learned "You Belong With Me" in my voice lessons. I really like your blue earrings too.

DeleteI live in Colorado, and I always LOVE those Aspen leaf earrings! I am on a Taylor Swift kick right now too!:) I didn't hate her before, I just never really liked her,but then I made a Pandora station of her,and we heard "We are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and I decided I liked her! ;) I watch all of the Messy Mondays videos, and I have always been a fan of you!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks, Alexandra! These earrings are definitely my new favorites. I'm wearing them right now!

ReplyDeleteHey, I love your spot on the web! I'm a 21 stay at home mom, married 2 years, and yes.....I too have SO loved Taylor Swift's "We Will Never Ever Getting Back Together" song (music video is awesome). I used to be a hater then watched her "Fearless" video and now I respect her. It's refreshing meeting other Christian geeks who have good taste in media. :)
