Josh and I had an amazing time on our vacation and we were both sad to see it end! But I for one was so ready to see our family and friends again.. Sleep in my own bed.. Cook in my own kitchen.. And just
be in my own home - I'm definitely a homebody! So while our time in Colorado was
wonderful and I look forward to visiting again, I've really enjoyed being home the last few days.
I must warn you that I didn't take as many pictures as I probably should have (especially the first few days). I was enjoying the moments far too much to interrupt them with pictures! I think it was important for me to take a break from that and allow myself to fully be on vacation - honestly, it was wonderful. But I promise I'll share what I did get with the "real" camera. In the meantime, here are some snapshots from the iPod (that I'm too lazy to put in the correct order, so there's that too).

Like I said, I'll be sure to share more pictures from the "real" camera as soon as I get a chance to sit down and sort through them. One thing I did struggle with was getting good pictures of the two of us.. Pretty much relied on the iPod to get those, which I'm regretting now that we're home. How are you supposed to get quality "couple pictures" while you're on vacation? I'm not willing to carry around a tripod or rely on strangers to handle my expensive camera just to get mediocre photos together. Le sigh. At least there are a few gems from the iPod :)
What about you guys? How do you handle getting pictures of everyone together when you're traveling? Do you have to take a break from documenting while you're on vacation, or do you take MORE pictures while on holiday? Any other homebodies out there experience that conflicting feeling on your last few days of vaca? Or maybe you're like my husband and could relocate to your vacation spot in a heartbeat without ever missing home. Seriously, I almost had to drag him to the car on our last day.
I spent three weeks in Colorado and Wyoming when I was your age actually. Went with my roommate, whose brother lived in Denver. It was so beautiful and we had such a good time I began to save money to move out there. Well, eventually I started working in the art department at Disney and that dream of moving out there kind of fizzled. Then, I met Doug, and well, the rest is history, as they say. I loved it so much out there though. Just gorgeous scenery. Can't wait to see more photos.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that, Mrs. Bonnie! It is beautiful there and Josh&I would like to live there one day.. but right now I can't imagine home being anywhere other than Tennessee.
DeleteLove. Love, love love ... you, Josh, the pictures, Colorado ... good stuff.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes ... when it comes to photos ... you have to choose between getting photos and making the memories. I'm glad you focused on the 2nd. Don't feel bad about the first. Ipod photos are fun. And I'm impressed you uploaded anything so soon.
Love you,
Meg
Thanks, Meg :) I just had to let it go for a few days. You are the sweetest.
DeleteWow it looks like you guys had an awesome time! Also tell Amy from Blimey Cow that I said hi and my name is Aimee too!!!!! But I spell it another way :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I will tell her ;)
DeleteThanks! You are AWESOME! :)
Deleteha ha! Since I live in CO I've been to nearly every place you went to. :-) I know that exact creek spot in Estes Park! :D Been to whit's end too! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLUCKY
DeleteMe and my fiancé haven't figured out the couple picture thing either! He's pretty much an introvert though so his MO is to avoid pictures all together lol Poor dude I usually calculate which shots are most important and we do the infamous selfie pose ;) fun vacation you two!
ReplyDeleteHehe. We'll all figure it out one day!
DeleteLove these pictures and can't wait to see more! :) Very beautiful there. To get good pics of you guys together get a remote for your camera & and wide angle lens...that should help! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions :) I actually do have a remote for the camera, but I'd forgotten about it until your comment. I will have to remember it for future vacations!
Deletevery cute pics! I am somewhat of a home body my self... it's convenient that I usually get tired and homesick right around the time to return home.
ReplyDeleteIt works the same way for me. Very convenient, indeed.
DeleteIf I'm using my expensive camera I just pick a stranger that looks trustworthy (someone with kids) to take the picture and may sure that they use the strap!
ReplyDeleteIt's not just the idea of a stranger using my expensive camera (though that does make me nervous), I don't like the poorly composed shots that we inevitably end up with. Is that silly? Haha
Deletewe're planning to stop in Colorado on our way back to Iowa, it looks awesome! you guys are just adorable, seriously, and I think you'd make a good Connie and Eugene, though, with romance, LOL
ReplyDeleteD'aww, THANKS :)
DeleteSo you went to the Navigators? did you see the USAFA Chapel?
ReplyDeleteYeah! We had never heard of them before, we sort of just came across the castle. It was so cool. We didn't visit any part of the USAFA, so no.. is it something worth checking out next time we're in the area?
DeletePeople always ask me to take pictures of them whenever we are out I guess I look trustworthy :) one of these times though I'm going to pretend to run away just to see their reaction.
ReplyDeleteHomebody here too. I love planning and being on vacation, but there's nothing like coming home to your own bed.
Ha! That would scare me. You'd definitely give them a good story though@
