HEY, FRIENDS! I can't believe it's already the end of August. Josh and I are safe in Colorado and we LOVE IT HERE! This has been such a great way to celebrate our 2nd anniversary - we are having so much fun. The mountains are beautiful! The drive to Estes Park took my breath away - highly recommended. We've had a great time exploring and being tourists, as well as chilling and just enjoying being together. It's been great. Highlights so far: the amazing food, the Museum of Nature and Science in Denver, the aforementioned drive up the mountain to Estes Park, Focus on the Family/Adventures in Odyssey's headquarters in Colorado Springs, and the incredible views everywhere. Seriously, does it get any better than this?Revamp Budget | F
No good reason. I just didn't do it. Ugh.
Eat Clean | A-
With the exception of a couple of birthday celebrations (and the indulgence of spaghetti and croissants, respectively), I've done really well - and I got a good report back from the consultant at our local health club! So I'm proud of myself, and I'm happy. At the moment that I'm writing this, I have high expectations for continuing to eat well while we're on the road (I've even mapped out clean restaurants and grocery stores along our route and around our hotels). Real-time update: still doing great in this area on vacation!
Healthy Travel | A+
This is the only item that I'm writing out in real time, while we're on vacation. The rest of my resolutions could be evaluated before we left, but this one was dependent on how well we stuck to the plan once we were actually, y'know, traveling. So far, it's going really well! I'm proud of the preparation I put into making sure we'd have healthy foods, and I'm also proud of the choices we've made the few times we've eaten out.
Find a Blogging Rhythm | A
Queueing up these scheduled and guest posts made me realize that this kind of system might work for me. Using times when I'm amped about blogging to write multiple posts and just save them for later? That is so much easier than waiting until the last minute to write. I also came up with a lot of inspiring ideas this month that I'm excited to try out when I'm back from vacation.
Overall Grade | B
What were you guys up to this month? Anyone else on vacation? Did anyone else feel like August went by way too fast? Where is this year going?!
Now it's your turn to share! It's easy - just click on the blue "Add your link" button at the end of this post, and paste in the link to your post (not your blog's home page). Be sure to give us both your name and your blog's name (e.g.: Kelli @ She Learns As She Goes). Please include a text-link back to my blog in your own post. If you don't have your Report Card written up yet, don't worry! This link-party will be open for a week (closes September 7th at 11:59 PM CST). Finally, visit each other and leave encouraging comments! :)

I'm glad you guys are having fun in Colorado! It's beautiful, my family and i have been there a few times and stayed in Estes Park once too. and yes... August has gone by fast! Have a great rest of your time in Colorado!

ReplyDeleteI've just lately discovered your blog, so I don't know if you've mentioned this before. But my husband and I have benefited SO MUCH from Dave Ramsey's budgeting materials. Attending Financial Peace University changed our lives in so many ways. We've been married 18 years (and I'm still learning as I go, which is why I follow you blog...), and I so wish someone had told us about Dave Ramsey 18 years ago. It would have saved us so much grief and so much money. Congrats on 2 years!
