Fresh Tomatoes
We've been enjoying these babies on sandwiches (even by themselves! I'm on a huge tomato sandwich kick), in salads, in our eggs, etc. We finally started getting tomatoes in our CSA share this week, and I couldn't be happier! Tomatoes have to be my favorite "vegetable."

Goodwill
Last week I found two sleeveless shirts and two pairs of shoes - all for under $15. Josh found four board games for under $10. Goodwill is awesome.
Our 2012 Summer Bucket List
This week, I created a physical version of our 2012 Summer Bucket List so I'd have it as a visual reminder and I could cross things off as we complete them. I also added a few items because I realized that I was only 12 away from 100.. I figured I might as well make it an even number! If you're curious, these are the items I added:Centennial Park • The Bicentennial Mall • develop 2-3 disposable cameras • Josh's b'day week extravaganza! • finish reading Catching Fire • Fannie Mae Drees Park (aka "dragon park") • rearrange dining area • journal • keep house tidy • smoothies • walking bridgeI'm looking forward to all the adventures we're going to have this summer. I've enjoyed crossing off a few of the items on this list already! Seriously, this is going to be the best summer.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Mug Cake
Specifically, this recipe. It is SO. FREAKING. GOOD. Especially with a cold glass of:
Chocolate Hazelnut Milk
It's like Nutella milk. Need I say more?!Tell me what you're digging these days!

I must admit, I geeked out when you mentioned Firefly, because ever since I watched it I've been singing its praises to anyone willing to listen to me. Make sure to watch Serenity (the movie) on Netflix after you're done with the series - unlike most TV show movies, it's a super good tie in because it was directed by the same guy. DFTBA!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I've heard! I'm excited about watching the entire story unfold. So far, it's right up my alley.
DeleteWhen I scrolled down and saw the Firefly picture, I literally gasped. Firefly is my favorite show, and as you are my favorite blogger, seeing the two of you together was amazing for me!
ReplyDeleteFirefly is one if the most amazing shows ever! For the record it originally aired on Fox not ABC and they aird the episode titled 'The Train Job' first because they decided that it was more exciting than the pilot that Joss Whedon originally wrote (the two hour episode that comes first on Netflix). Unfortunately very few people understood what was going on in the show because they skipped the introductory episode and it was cancelled :( On the bright side the camcelletion caused Whedon to write the movie Serenity which is amazing.
ReplyDeleteOops! I even knew it was on Fox.. I'll fix that straightway. Thanks for the correction :)
DeleteAwesome Goodwill finds!! Love that place!I'm totally envying those adorable sandals! I have to try that chocolate Hazelnut milk-I think I've tried every other kind nut, seed and grain milk-almond,coconut,oat,rice walnut, hemp(ewwwww)-but that sounds Uhmazing.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED FIREFLY! It is one of the most original sci-fi ever! Make sure you watch Serenity also. That one is just as good.
ReplyDeleteCurrently, I'm digging Peanut Butter anything (I'm going to try and make peanut butter and jelly cupcakes) and the tv series Sherlock. If you haven't heard of it, YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON A HUGE CHUNK OF LIFE! Okay, maybe not a HUGE chunk, but you are missing out on a pretty good tv series.:)
YAY Firefly! My hubby and I watched it when it originally aired on Fox, we were so sad when it was cancelled! BUT the Movie was fantastic and they have released comics to carry on the story :)
ReplyDeleteCurrently my favorite smoothie is 2 ripe bananas, two heaping spoon fulls of peanut butter, 2 cups of soy milk, two spoonfuls of nesquik and ice! Blend until smooth and its the perfect chocolate + peanut butter lovers treat!
We've just discovered Firefly here as well!! Almost done with the series. Can't bring myself to watch the last couple episodes because then I know it will all be over. Thankfully, the movie is available on Netflix instant watch, too. I checked. :)
ReplyDeleteCentennial Park (in Nashville) has swing dancing on Saturday nights if you are interested. It's free and they do lessons just before if you don't know how. I think they have canceled it temporarily during this heatwave we are having now, but it should be back on soon. It would be a great opportunity to check out the park and dance the night away if you'd like! :-)
