McKay Used Books is one of Josh's favorite places in Nashville. I like it, too, but Josh grew up going there with his family, so I'd say his love for Mckay eclipses my own. ;) They recently moved their store from West Nashville (complete with an awfully small parking lot). The new store is only about ten minutes from the original location, but it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere! It's awesome, though. Not only is the parking situation greatly improved at the new location, but the new store is overwhelmingly huge - definitely awe-inspiring. Icing on the cake: we have still have about $60 in store credit from trading in a bunch of CDs last fall! Ka-ching!
What's your favorite book store?

Oh my! That looks absolutely amazing. And yay for store credit!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have nothing close to the size of this where I live, but we do have a small used book shop that is simply called The Book Store. I love it there! They always have the classics and at a good price too! I love books...
I LOVE bookstores! They are so roomy! I try to walk down to the only one near me at least once a month. I would do it more but it IS a long walk haha.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so awesome!

Not sure if it's related, but the biggest used book store here in Raleigh is Edward McKay's used books. There's also Mr. Mike's used books, smaller stores, but more of them around town, so usually closer.
ReplyDeleteVintage books are SO an obsession for me. I just go to my local thrift shop. ;)
ReplyDeleteThere's a used bookstore around the corner from me called The Dawn Treader. It's nowhere near as big as McKay looks! I love that they have shelves at the front with books for a dollar or less - when I'm out running errands, I can get a book for the change in my pocket!
ReplyDeleteIt looks. Like heaven!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a place I could spend hours in!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a place I would enjoy! My favorite book store is Half-Price Books. It's dangerous, though! You can hardly believe the piles of books (and music and movies) you can walk out of there with, even for under $10-20. That clearance section is quite the temptation! I have to remember I have limited space in my house, however tempting the piles of books.
ReplyDeleteMcKay Used Books looks amazing!
It's so crazy how the Nashville store and the Knoxville store look EXACTLY alike!
ReplyDeleteIf you ever come to Portland, Oregon, you must go to Powell's City of Books. It's a giant bookstore; in fact it takes up an entire city block and it's all new and used books. You can sell books to them and they have a cute little coffeeshop on one floor. The best part? They've separated and themed all the books into the Rose Room, the Blue Room, The Green Room, etc. It's so easy to get lost in that book Heaven!
