13 Right Now...

...I'm sorry for how quiet I've been this week. I planned to put up a couple posts between VDay and now, but I got The Hunger Games series for my birthday.. and I completely zoned out over the last three days to read them. Oh my goodness. Those books are amazing. I just finished the last book a few hours ago, and I already want to read them again.

...Josh and Jordan are filming tomorrow's Messy Monday video in the back room. I like that I can hear both the yelling and the laughter. Makes me smile.

...I'm making a list of things I need to get done around the house tomorrow. I didn't do any chores on Valentine's Day or my birthday (on principle!), then I got sucked into The Hunger Games and couldn't put the books down. Now I've got to get back into the swing of things.

...my heart is a little heavy and I could use a friend. I'm looking forward to girl time tomorrow night!

...I'd like to go home. I'm ready for sleep. I can tell that I'm pushing the envelope in relation to my health.

...no pictures today. But I have a few from the ol' birthday to share with y'all! They'll probably be up by Wednesday.

Who else fell in love with The Hunger Games and forgot about the rest of their lives while they read them?

  1. I think I'm currently forgetting about the rest of my life right now, since I'm still reading them. And I LOVE them. Suzanne Collins does such a great job of just drawing you into the story. It's slightly annoying and yet completely awesome at the same time.

I'm sorry your heart is heavy - I know how that goes. I'll be praying for you, and I hope you have a great time tomorrow evening! :)

  3. I've only read the first book and I loved it! I liked it so much actually that I'm holding off on reading the other two because I don't want them to be over for me too quickly! The first book was completely addicting. I swear I felt nervous and scared for Katniss the entire time I read it.

  4. The Hunger Games!! Isn't it great to read them after everybody else so you don't have to wait years for the movie to come out? :)

  6. The Hunger Games were obssesive! I was borrowing them from a neighbor and ran to get the third one, the second I closed the second one. Catching Fire was the best, but I really hated Mockingjay. Okay, I'm going to stop myself before you hear my novel on what I thought of the Hunger Games! =) Sorry you're sad. I hope you feel better!

  8. Thanks for the cheers, everyone :)

I suppose it shouldn't surprise me that I got such a response about The Hunger Games. Those books are so good! I can't wait for Josh to read them so I can talk to him about them :) The movie will be out so soon! I'm excited!

  9. Agh! I loved the Hunger Games! I was stuck in there for 3 days finishing them. The third was really depressing though. And sometimes Katniss really frustrated me. It's funny how female readers very often dislike the female lead.... haha. I can't wait for the movie! I hope it doesn't flop :/ Suzanne Collins is such a good writer! I read her Gregor the Overlander series a few years ago, and it was just as good! Just for a younger audience...

    1. Haha, my sister talked me into reading the books by telling me that the lead girl was very much like me. She was very right. And to be honest, I had plenty of annoyances with Katniss myself, but none that I can't admit struggling with myself!
What amazing books though! I can't wait for the film either!!!

  11. Just finished re-reading the Hunger Games this week too! I loaned it to my roommate and she read in, quite literally, one day. Knowing the complete end of the story....well I can't tell if it makes it better or worse. Suzanne Collins is fabulous.

  12. Oh I loved the Hunger Games! FINALLY a book series not filled with terrible language and a stupid love story. I really really liked Peeta, his behaviour kind of reminded me of 1 Cor 13. I kept asking myself "WHYYYYYYYYYY on earth does this boy not give up? How can he possibly still like that terrible Katniss???". And then I thought, well, guess that means I personally would've given up. Interesting because both main characters are so flawed yet so much like me (or, in same areas, unlike me, hehe). I was also told I have some of Katniss' traits, which made me aware that I can be really annoying as well... but who can't be, sometimes?
